The 8th Annual
Mother Earth Hands-On Harvest Fair
The Eighth Annual Mother Earth Hands On Harvest Fair takes place Sunday, September 23,
10am-5pm, once again hosted by Spoutwood Farm in Glen Rock, PA. This year the festival will focus on hands-on demonstrations and learning activities for all ages around the theme of "Fresh Local Approaches to Fun and Healthy Living." Beyond the demos and activities there will be a special emphasis on live local music at several venues, lively dancing and creative arts. The Mother Earth Hands On Harvest Fair will be a true Celebration of Life in York County.
Children's Village
The Harvest Fair will be family-focused and fun-filled. New this year will be a truly wondrous Children's Village featuring Animals for Petting, a Harvest Parade of Garden Vegetables, Kids' Yoga, Storytelling, Scarecrow Making and Creative Crafts.
Harvest Food and Farming
Any Harvest Festival must feature autumn's bounty of Food and Farming. This Fair will not disappoint with workshops and demonstrations on Honey and Beekeeping, A Fresh Food Farmers' Market, Food Preparation and Preservation, Fall Harvest Food Sampling from Local Restaurants, Farm Animals, A Mule Wagon Ride, Hands-On Harvest Farm Garden Tours, Fruit and Grain Beverage-Making and Sampling as well as Apple Demos and Activities.
Healthy-Mind-Body-Spirit and Nature Areas
The Healthy-Mind-Body-Spirit Tent will have Meditation and Yoga, Stress and Relaxation Techniques, Mindful Exercise and T'ai Chi. The Environment and Nature Area will showcase herbs for health and pleasure, Native and Invasive Plant Walks as well as stream monitoring and Watershed Education.
Free Entrance Fee for Kids and Parking
In order to make The Mother Earth Hands On Harvest Fair even more family friendly, kids 12 and under are free and adults only $5. Parking at the farm across the road will run $3/ vehicle.
